Webull turned placing a trade into typing a sentence.
That frictionlessness is the product, and the one guardrail, the tap to confirm, guards execution, not judgment.

On October 27 its Canadian arm said clients can now connect their brokerage accounts to AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Grok) through an open standard, Model Context Protocol, with no coding. Ask in plain language and the assistant pulls your balances and prepares an order. Nothing executes until you review and confirm it on Webull.

That confirm step is the whole safeguard, and it sits at the wrong place. An assistant that is always on, fluent, and built to help turns a restless late-night thought into a filled order ticket; the button only asks whether you meant what it already framed. The costly step in trading was never tapping buy. It was the friction before it: opening the app, thinking, typing the order yourself. That friction just disappeared.

Follow the incentive. A broker earns on activity and order flow, not on whether you chose well. Lower the cost of acting and people act more, and for most retail traders acting more is the losing move. The assistant makers get distribution into tens of millions of accounts; the broker gets volume; you get a smoother path to doing something.

The honest counter: the same assistant can talk you out of a bad trade, and confirm is a real veto. For a disciplined user it's a research upgrade. But the interface is tuned to be helpful, and doing nothing rarely sounds helpful.

If your broker ships an AI that prepares orders, decide one thing first: keep it for research, and treat confirm as a real stop, not a reflex. This read is wrong if a year of broker data shows trade frequency didn't rise after these rollouts. The leverage belongs to whoever built the funnel; keep some of it.
